Sea turtles have lived around for 110 million years. Unlike other turtles, They can not put tier limbs and head in their shell. Their shell is more flat than normal turtles so they can swim better. But because of careless fishing, habitat destruction and plastic pollution has made the turtles endangered or threatened. Every year, millions of sea turtles get injured and die from fishing hooks, line, lead sinkers because uneducated or careless anglers leave them behind. People don't realize the long-term implications," says Marie Strasburger, a biologist with the U.S. Fish and Wildlife Service in Washington, D.C. Just picking up fishing line, she adds, would mean vast benefits for the environment - not just in sparing birds and reptiles unnecessary suffering - but in cleaning up our waters and shorelines. Wildlife experts have to deal with the animals. it has led to the death of lots of animals, and sometimes amputated limbs. This not the only thing that kills sea turtles. …show more content…

The careless fishing has caused habitat destruction. with less habitat to live in, turtles are getting less area for finding their favorite food, jellyfish. The beaches they live on are also being destroyed from beach goers trash and thing left behind, and their nests could be demolished by beach goers laying there sunbathing, surf boards being placed on them, etc.. The beach could also erode away, making them have less nesting area. People building on beaches for buildings also give them less room. Coastal armoring (Sea walls, rock revetments and other man-made structures) can make the beaches smaller or block off the beaches completely. Exotic vegetation has taken over the beaches witch degrades the quality of wildlife habitats which lead to more erosion. More turtles died from plastic pollution than
