The 2nd Amendment of the US Constitution Probably the most debated amendment, the Second Amendment, was originally created so the people of the US could protect themselves but people argue that now it is doing more harm than good. Some say that this amendment is only meant to protect cities with militias but most say that it is meant for individuals to protects their homes, families, and themselves with firearms. The Second Amendment has had an impact on Americans since it’s creation. To this day we still exercise this right and it is a part of our culture. First, we need to look at what the Second Amendment originally states and how we interpret it in modern times. Lee Heng, who owns and operates a store in a Philadelphia neighborhood, told police he was awakened by the sounds of two men entering his home.
