When we think about people who made a change of African American segregation we think about MLK or Rosa Parks. But there are other people who had started the protest such as Claudette Colvin and Colin Kaepernick. They both got attention by many people because of their protest. It all started because of one thing, segregation. Some people judge someone by their skin color, appearance, belief or their gender. And this is the reason why Colvin and Kaepernick protested, because (“ It baffles me that our protest is still being misconstrued as disrespectful to the country, flag and military personnel. In 1995, when colvin was 15 years old she was arrested for not giving up her seat for a white woman. She was arrested and charged with disorderly conduct, violating the segregation ordinance, assault and battery. She was convicted of all charges and was released after her lawyer appealed, only her conviction on the assault was retained. Colvin became active in the Youth Council of the Montgomery chapter of the National Association for the Advancement of colored people (NAACP), a civil rights organization. She couldn't be used to represent the African American segregation movement because she assaulted a police officer. But at last ,she and others made it possible for segregation laws to be illegal. We still can't appreciate other people because of their skin color. We judge others , we all do ,i know that you have also judge somoene.You might have not done it on purpose but you couldn't help yourself ,you judged someone. Colin Rand Kaepernick is an American football quarterback who is currently a free agent , . Colin Kaepernick protested because of this. He protested because police brutality against unarmed black people. He decided to make a powerful impact so he chose to kneel.Because of his protest he lost his job.He just wanted to protest to change the world.“A man I am proud to call my brother, who should be celebrated for his courage to seek change on important issues.” “Instead, to this day, he is unemployed and portrayed as a radical un-American who wants to divide our country.”
