1. Displays Resilience and courage
Working for the Greater Hume Shire, I displayed resilience and courage on a daily basis. I undertook two roles, customer service officer and Engineering Administrative Support. This required me to be adaptable and multi-skilled with the ability to change priorities at a moment’s notice.
I worked through challenging issues, coming up with an appropriate solution. An example is when I found a major client had not made any payment to the shire. After extensive investigation, I found that insufficient documentation had been submitted in accordance with the contractual agreement. Communicate Effectively
My communication skills both verbally and in writing are excellent. As the face of the Greater Hume Shire, I was responsible for greeting all clients over the telephone and face-to-face. I always ensured I greeted clients in a friendly, professional manner.
I was required to have a broad knowledge of a number of issues affecting the shire. Some of these included fallen trees, potholes, stray dogs and cats, illegal dumping, blocked drains and sewers, rates, driver testing and many other enquiries. I always answered questions in a clear, concise manner, checking for understanding of key messages.
Dealing with a wide variety of clients, I was able to adapt the way I communicate to suit the individual or audience to ensure understanding of messages sent and received.
While working for the Airport Link Project – Thiess–John Holland – Brisbane, I prepared high priority 20 and 40-day management plans. I also created and maintained a master register in Excel detailing revision history of all documents, including the current …show more content…

Deliver Results
I have a solid history of delivering results within allocated timeframes. While working for the Greater Hume Shire, multitasking was a must. Some of the duties I undertook included, the ability to answer incoming calls and manage inquiries at reception simultaneously; organise catering for Council workshops and meetings; prepare for meetings and complete subsequent follow up tasks; format, edit and proofread tenders and contract documents; conduct Driver/Rider knowledge testing and assist with Government Access Centre (GAC) transactions.
I also had strict deadlines to meet including processing daily receipts by 4.00pm and developing monthly reports for management within the allocated timeframe.
While working for Airport Link Project – Thiess – John Holland – Brisbane, I instigated and maintained an office management system throughout the duration of the project to maintain consistency. I developed a spreadsheet to record all documents including version control.
I ensured all staff were aware of the management system and the value it added to the project and provided support to staff on using the system.
4. Technology
My computer skills are advanced and I use Microsoft Word, Microsoft Excel and Microsoft Outlook on a daily basis. I am a touch typist with an excellent rate of
