Sometimes people come into your life and leave a very Great Impact on it. That person for me is Selena Quintanilla-Perez. A Tejano American singer known as the “Tejano Queen’’. Selena was born April 16 1971 in Lake Jackson, Texas. Her father Abraham Quintanilla was a musician. He later formed a musical group with Selena and her Two siblings, Selena y los dinos. She was only Ten when she became the lead singer of the group. Because of her presence, her music and fashion made her one of the most famous American singers in the late 80s early 90s. English was her first language, her father later taught her how to sing in Spanish and later became fluent in Spanish. She later married Chris Perez in 1992. Sadly, on March 31st of 1995, she was murdered by her fan club president Yolanda Saldivar. Once I got to know more about her. She was just like everyone else. I started listening to her music at the beginning of the pandemic. During this time was very rough for me mentally and physically. I was going through a break up, not being able to go anywhere to distract myself and physically wasn't happy with myself. Her music always makes me happy, even though I don't understand what she's saying, I feel that makes her music more exciting. She also Inspired me to stay in school and helped me realize that getting my high school diploma will be the best thing to ever happen in my life. She also helped other kids think that too with volunteering in the young education and the community. She hosted a baseball game to raise money for many charities.
