You don’t want to assume a person self harms because it can be rude or extremely hurtful and it won’t make the issue any better. A lot of people claim that self harmers do it for the attention, but you don’t know what they have been through in they life to make them self harm. Also, don’t call it stupid because they don’t need to hear that, they need support. Don’t try to control their self harm and why they do it, it will only make it worse. Although, you think it is “Just a phase” it probably isn’t, so don’t try to tell them it is. Lastly, you shouldn’t be telling other people about someone’s self harm unless they can help because it isn’t their business. Although, it is not always the case, some self harmers engage in suicide. So, why do people commit suicide? That’s a hard question to answer, and theres’s not an easy way to answer it.
