In “Acquainted With The Night”, Frost explores a man’s walk at night as a way to look at his self-isolation and depression. The poem initially starts lines with the phrase “I have”, as the speaker remembers his current and past walks in the night, but this repetition pattern fades away as the speaker drifts into thought. It returns at the end of the poem, as the speakers returns to his normal thoughts. Frost uses the metaphor of the moon as a clock to show that the speaker’s time is limited.
