Flannery O’Connor is trying to show that people often put themselves before others without ever wanting or letting themselves and others judge them.
In this essay I will review how I have improved as a writer, my greatest challenges, and how has my writing changed from how it was at the start of class to now. Reflection is a powerful thing, I can still remember how it felt being asked to write an essay on my first day of class. I was so scared, would I be able to use correct punctuation and how bad will it affect my grade if I am not? I was so excited when the professor said it was just to see that we can write conformed sentences not to critique our grammar and punctuation.
I came into my first college writing class feeling prepared thanks to you and your investment in me as a student in your AP Lang class. I developed as a writer more than I ever had in your class, and it definitely helped me in my college writing class this semester. I already knew how important it was to revise and continuously critically think about my writing, as well as the importance of multiple drafts and peer review. My English 110 class this semester was very similar to yours because we also did multiple drafts where I could revise my paper as many times as needed. The big difference was that the focus was on different genres and how to appeal to those, which was something new compared to my high school English courses.
Reflection Essay My time spent in English 110C English Composition was quite an experience especially with Professor Robert Ciara as my instructor. Professor Ciara help improve my skills of observation, provided individual conferences to better my writing skills, and help me get over the fright of public speaking. The first paper I worked on in his class was a rhetorical analysis about the most effective 2015 Super Bowl commercial.
Exit Essay Before fall semester started my writing skill were not the best as my high school was not as strict in writing structure. The way I write has gotten sloppy and careless but I saw some improvement this fall semester In semester in English 1301, I have relearn grammar and sentence structure.
When I first started Dual English Comp I was narrow-minded and stubborn. This course opened up my mind to English but also taught me how to write a successful college essay. Before this course I had no idea which kind of punctuation to use or when to put a comma before but or and. When I look back on my first paper I wrote for English Comp I can definitely see a difference between my first piece of work and one of my last essays I wrote and how much I have improved. My initial goal when I first came into this class was to get an A no matter what.

Here in my English 101 class all we do is write essays. By the way, thank you for sacrificing your extra time after school hours to help me become a better writer. You and your class has really taught me how to write more proficiently.
Most of what I think that sets college writing apart is the vocabulary in your writing. As you progress and your writing skills get better the better your vocabulary should be. Even your thought process increases, coming up with supporting details is even easier. Like I said before it comes with practice and good habits. Make the initiative to get better and seek out new words to use for your writing.
In the past, many problems prevented me from writing excellent papers. Throughout my years of writing in school, the papers I have written for this class have challenged me the most. In the beginning of the semester, I did not fully understand how much time and effort I needed to put forth to write a college essay. My past English classes did not prepare me for writing college-level essays, nor teach me the proper way in which to write the papers. The essays I have written this semester have improved immensely thanks to the feedback from both Mrs. Menetre and Mrs. Fleming.
As each writing assignments is graded, I realize how much I have improved as a writer by the grade and the fewer mistakes that I have made in them. As each time the grammatical and spelling mistakes are fewer on each paper. I want to share how I have grown as a writer on second semester by being in class and reflecting on my previous assignments. Even though there weren’t many writing assignments this semester. There were some assignments that I have done poorly on.
Throughout this semester, I can honestly say that my writing has improved in both style and technique. These eighteen short weeks (give or take) have shown me both positive and negative aspects of my writing capabilities. My confidence has grown and I have learned many new things. I have been given the opportunity to pick topics that I feel I could write well about and this has made essays more fun and enjoyable. MY instructor and peers have both given me accurate critiques that have only bettered my work.
During the course of this semester, I feel that I have grown substantially as a writer. I think that I could improve even more with practice as well as using a few resources. This class has helped me drastically by improving my writing structure but I think it could have been even better if I had spent my time more efficiently. Overall this class has been very beneficial to me and I think it will really help me in the future. When I started this class I took a completely different approach to writing a paper.
ENG-122 Reflective Essay My writing process has changed tremendously over the course of this class. I feel more accomplished, confident and I feel sometimes that my ideas and thoughts just come in to my mind out of nowhere and I start writing about anything now. I pay attention to my punctuation and grammar more as I have polished them more now, not only when I write but then others write as well. I am constantly looking for errors and I highly think this is helping me a lot in my career.
Additionally, I now see where I can make improvements in my writing to become a more refined college level writer and use what I learn here to help me with various degrees of my life outside of the classroom. For this portfolio, I revised the first essay we did in the class, the "Summary and Response" essay. Furthermore, this essay a mere five pages seems like it should have been so easy, but then it was most challenging.
My journey in this English 3001 course during the past ten weeks, and over the course of taking is English class I have grown and learned more that I thought it is necessary for me to know as a student. I have improved in my overall writing skills because if you look at my second in-class essay and the rest of my essay you will see that I have made progress and improvement compare to my diagnostic essay and the first in-class essay. Moreover, now that I have completed the English course my skills are better that I am capable to meet the university standard writing requirements.
