I am an experienced hardworking, reliable and motivated Senior Nurse. I lead by example and thrive on challenges. I am able to demonstrate excellent communication skills and this is evident when working well within the multi-disciplinary team (MDT). I have worked in Alder Hey children’s Hospital for fourteen years, working initially within the Oncology unit for eight years were I acquired a vast knowledge of sepsis. Currently I am based within the clinical business unit. I am the lead nurse on a number of studies ranging from meningitis, encephalitis epilepsy, ketogenic diet, transverse myelitis, HIV, DMD and infection. Working very closely with consultants within the trust on a number of duties and teaching. I have excellent abilities to visualise, gather information, articulate, analyse and solve complex problems and make decisions. I pose excellent organisation skills which I have demonstrated throughout my career, such as prioritising my workload, utilising IT skills to produce accurate records of study data, maintaining accurate case report forms and online data records in a timely manner. My computer skills involve strong knowledge of excel, word, PowerPoint, outlook and various data bases. I am also a super user for the patient record system (meditech v6). I have undertaken paediatric informed consent training, which has equipped me with the skills to ensure that effective informed consent is obtained. I have also been involved in a MRHA inspection. My current role also includes working within research guidelines, including research governance, ethics, MRHA, and the human tissue act.
