I am pleased to submit my application for the Senior Program Analyst position which was advertised on the Government of Saskatchewan website. My in-depth exposure, at a graduate level, to both qualitative and quantitative research methods coupled with my knowledge, as a research/teaching assistant, will benefit my capacity within the Senior Program Analyst role, in developing, implementation and coordination of programs, policies amongst others to support effective program delivery. My career development has mingled with areas relating to critical research and analysis of complex, and diverse social policy issues in the Canadian society with the aim of developing initiatives that can inform/improve policy development. This is evident in my role as Research Assistant in the Safety Engagement of Saskatchewan Employees in the Mining Industry project (SESEMI). Working in the University of Saskatchewan’s Pre-Pilot Undergraduate Research Initiative, I applied my research and facilitation skills in coaching more than 300 students on research methods, analysis and report writing. In addition, I was able to facilitate critical and analytical discussions about policies with the goal of making recommendations. I routinely liaised with professors and curriculum innovation specialist, amongst others, to ensure that the needs of students from diverse backgrounds and different intellectual abilities are met. In addition, I developed excellent communication and presentation skills that enabled me to effectively engage in the preparation and delivering of lectures at various seminars and academic
