Sennacherib was the king of the Neo-Assyrian Empire. He was the first great king of the Neo-Assyrian Empire and he ruled from 705 BC to 681 BC. Sennacherib is the “greatest” because of his important building projects, military achievements, and administrative reforms. The first reason why Sennachirib is the greatest is because of his important building projects. Some of his most important building projects are building himself a new palace, erecting the inner and outer city walls, and making the city better and prettier in many ways. Sennacherib built a palace in his capital, Nineveh. He called it the “Palace without Rival”.
