When she first started, she faced racism for playing a white sport. During the time she started tennis, it was considered a white-dominant sport. However, that did not stop her from playing tennis. Serena Williams changed how tennis players should look, play, or dress. To illustrate, Serena Williams’ powerful play changed how women should play tennis; her style of play was considered too powerful and masculine, compared to grace and feminine.
