Venus and Serena Williams have proved to be the most powerful athletes in the world of tennis. Although the Williams’ sisters are always competing against one another to prove to the world that one or the other is a better tennis player, they have often competed together to win multiple matchups. The sisters are quite similar in multiple ways, but are also extremely different within their similarities. While they share the love for their career and their family, their lives have panned out into two different ways as their careers and health have taken two different tolls.
With Serena being a year and three months younger than her sister Venus, she has had the easiest life out of the two. Venus was born outside the suburbs of Compton, California, while her sister was born in Saginaw, Michigan. The sisters each gained their love for tennis through their father, who started training them as early as the age of three. With early childhood practice, they were able to become the greatest tennis players in the world.

Serena became a professional at the age of fifteen. A year later she graduated high school, and almost immediately inked a $12 million shoe deal with Puma. She beat out her sister in their race to the family's first Grand Slam win when she captured the U.S. Open title in 1999. She has won 37 out of the 44 Grand Slams that she has played in. She also carries 96 wins and 23 losses in her career. Serena has pulled in a whopping $73.3 million in prize money alone. On the other hand, Venus went professional in 1994 at the age of 14. Venus has won 23 out of 32 Grand Slams and has won 72 out of 104 career matches in her lifetime. She has won less than half the total money that her sister has won, with her total prize money sitting at $32.64
