The city of Edmonton and their Missions, visions, and values are much like the police force; EPS (Edmonton police service). Both focusing on trying to make Edmonton the best city it can be, by emphasizing on strategic plans, working with the different communities and increasing public safety within Edmonton. The two organizations are trying to communicate to the people of Edmonton by setting goals for the future so Edmonton can potentially be the best it can be by 2040. The city of Edmonton is trying to communicate the process of making the city what they want it to be by 2040. At the Edmonton police service, their mission, vision, and core values help communicate that they want the city to be one of the safest major cities in Canada. The actions that will be taking to ensure that the city stays safe are; to increase prevention, intervention and the suppression of crime and disorder. To make sure that these tasks are followed, EPS has a list of set core values that they follow. The core values are; Integrity, accountability, respect, innovation, courage, and community. Connections that have been found between the two public entities are both wanting the best for the city. The city of Edmonton and the Edmonton police service both want to have a safe and functional society for the future. Both entities emphasize their works based on cooperation from the public and to all work together to achieve the future goals. Even though both entities are mainly focused on the people, one has its focus on the city and how it will develop and improve over time following the set action plans.
