The Seven Years War, a global conflict known in America as the French and Indian War, took place on May 15, 1756. This war brought to England more land in America and any English Subjects living in America had more land and more money. However, the outcome of the war was not only a victory to Great Britain but also debt to the country. As the name described, the war lasted seven years and for seven years, a country had to willingly provide any military material needed. The costs of war became a huge burden to the British government. Since King George III saw it the war as beneficial to the citizens living in America, it was only right to take back money from them. The colonists refused to pay taxes and began boycotting English Products. One of the most significant impacts the slogan had on the colonist’s decision of the revolution took place in Boston. On March 5, 1770, the military troops that the king placed in the colonies shot one of the colonists. The incident was called the Boston Massacre. Although the name Massacre made the attack seemed serious, it did not represent the truth about the incidents. The massacre resulted in 5 deaths, which was the least number of deaths in any massacre in human history. However, it did make the colonist angrier about the king’s tyrannical treatment.
