There is no doubt that sexual assault in college campuses is a serious and present issue. In recent years and in the past, sexual assault has run rampant within the collegiate system, creating an uncomfortable situation for not just women, but for all of the students who attend. One would think that as time goes on and humanity grows as a whole that nasty habits like sexual assault would become more taboo than it seems to be now, but according to a campus study of every college in the U.S News and World Report conducted by Bradford Richardson and Jon A. Shields, reports of sexual assault have risen to an all time high for students that are between the ages eighteen and twenty-four. A benefit of having an incognito place for students to go to after having a scary experience such as sexual assault is that it helps them to feel safer and more secure. It will prompt the student that there are people out there who will listen and who care enough to help, as well as remind them that they are not alone when it comes to an incident such as that.
Furthermore, to make the subject of rape culture more known and understood on campus, mandatory seminars could be held every semester. Students would be required to attend to one of these scheduled meet ups during the first week of the semester. These gatherings could inform the students about what sexual assault is, how to prevent it, where to get help, and provide new and important information. Having this every semester keeps the constant traffic of students going in and out of universities informed, and reiterates the facts into the minds of everyone
