Sylvia Plath once said in The Unabridged Journals of Sylvia Plath “and the danger is that in this move toward new horizons and far directions, that I may lose what I have now, and not find anything except loneliness.” The Arrival by Shaun Tan is a story of striving to find a better life for the main character and his family but this involves moving away to a foreign land where our character does not know the language or customs.
