Do you believe a person can really change? That's exactly what happens to a teen name Mickey Bolitar in the novel of Shelter by Harlan Coben’s. The story opens with two strange events that changes Bolitar’s life completely one is when he is on his way to school and passes by a house that is occupied by a strange old lady named “Bat Lady”. Whom she one day address Mickey and tells him how his father in fact is alive. Second is how his new girlfriend named Ashley all the sudden vanished from his life. Mickey Bolitar has recently witness his father's death and his mother going to rehab. The person who he is forced to live with his his strange uncle named Myron who lives in a entirely different neighborhood. Whom brings a lot of joy to mickey's life Ashley makes mickey's life feel like is finally improving after the horrible train road he has recently witness. Unfortunately Ashley out of nowhere banished from school as well as mickey's life without a trace leaving no clue what so ever. Mickey is unwilling to let another person walk out of his life,Mickey seeks for help from two fellows who become great friends of his who are named “Spoon” and Emma whom he tells them about how Ashley has vanished and he wants to find out why. Mickey's two new friends help him in his quest to figure out what happened to Ashley and they end up in some dangerous, life-threatening situations.Mickey does things that could have cost him to get into trouble one was breaking in in the main office with his two fellow friends to find out clues about Ashley but unfortunately doesn't find any clues that could help him find
