Sherlock Holmes is a famous story about a detective who has solved many big cases while he was still living. In the book and the movie, there are definitely similar and different. As for the similar, it’s from the beginning of the story to the part where Ms. Hunter finished to told to Holmes and Watson about the performance that she have to acted in Mr. Rucastle house. The differences from here are mostly add by the producer of the movie version of “ The Adventure of The Copper Beeches”. In the story, after Ms. Hunter took the key from Mr. Toller while he was drunk and fall asleep on the table. She go and meet Holmes and Watson at 7 o’clock, that is when they heard a scream came from the locked room. In the story, they're all rush to the locked room while Mr. Rucastle is going out for a moment. In the movie it is different, Mr. Rucastle saw Holmes and Watson ran into his house, and he hurried come back to the house to stop them. Another thing is that in the story, Holmes and Watson tried various keys but come without success so they have to use their shoulder to break down the door when no one answer their calls outside the room. But in the movie, Holmes make Ms. Hunter sit down on the bed and head her face out so that when Mr. Rucastle come to the room, he may or may not mistook she as his daughter for when he said her name. That's when they knew the person in that room was his own daughter. After this part, mostly from the movie are different from the book, from when Mr. Rucastle locked them in the locked room, and tried to escape. Then Holmes called out for Watson to get out his gun and break down the lock when Mr. Rucastle went for the dog. While going after him, they met Mr. Toller where he warned that the dog hasn't been fed for two days
