The story “Superman and Me” has author Alexie tells his readers a theme that he learned when he was young: to be himself no matter what others tell him to do. The story is about Alexie and his love for reading and what caused it. Alexie wrote the story on his childhood in the Spokane Indian Reservation. Alexie is the main character seeing as this is a narrative about his childhood. He has a conflict when others try to tell him not to be himself.

Classical heroes are the old ones, the ones that are first seen in the Greek mythology, like Perseus, Theseus, and Odysseus. Modern heroes are seen in Marvel’s films or DC Comics films for example, like superman, ironman, and the Flash. The Flash represents a modern-day hero because of his characteristics and following the hero’s journey.
The creators themselves have recognized that the character has no struggles and that it generally gets boring watching him or reading about him. They try to make him struggle and make people more interested in him, but they still end up in the previous trend. That is why no matter what, Superman is the most overrated
