At the end of March, 2017, it was announced that Sherwin-Williams will acquire The Valspar Corporation for approximately $9 billion. Valspar maintains a strong presence in the consumer market; particularly Lowe's and Ace Hardware. This acquisition is a strategic move to further penetrate the consumer market.
