In today’s society, perfection seems to be the only way to get recognized for anything. Proactiv depends on this belief to sell their product. They rely on advertisements that are heavily coated in ethical, emotional, and in some cases, logical appeals. Ethical appeals can be found in all of their ads, with the use of the clear-skinned celebrities that cover every ad that Proactiv puts out. Most of these ads are placed in magazines and on websites that cater to the teenage and young adult age group. One ad in particular uses Katy Perry as the spokeswoman and the question, “What’s her secret to success?” The answer, of course, is “she’s Proactiv.” Proactiv has always been known for having top-tier celebrities endorse their product.
