I walk through the automatic glass doors and in front of me is a whole new world. The first time I step onto Deck 15 I am blown away. Once I compose myself, it finally kicks in that I will be spending the next seven days on the world’s largest cruise ship. I walk over to the edge of the boat and as I look down an instant rush of energy hits me; I am 15 stories up. The sight is like nothing I've ever seen before. There is so much going on around me. Taking it all in is hard. The first thing I notice is all the different people, the zip line, and the endless temptations of food that will ruin the body I've worked on for the last three months. Deck 15 is one of the most amazing places I've ever seen. As I gaze upon the deck I start to people watch. As I walk to where I need to be harnessed in, fear instantly rushes through my blood. The workers stick a yellow smelly helmet on me and then I am pulled, tightened, and told to hold on. I instantly hear the rattling sound the zip line makes as I glide across Deck 15. As I zoomed across I look to my left and see a full sized basketball court and to my right is a mini-golf course. I can't take my eyes off the three on three tournament that I should be playing in at that moment. When I look to my right I see a group of little kids frustrated they can't make a putt due to the fact that they're on a rocking boat. I literally dangle above the treetops of Central Park. As I grip the handle bars my knuckles turn ghost white and my hands start to drip sweat. I am getting near the landing. Although it's hard to miss because it's painted fire truck red, fear is instilled within me. I automatically halted to a stop and run into the green mat that softens my landing. I am filled with adrenaline. There is nothing like zip lining across Deck
