Introduction
(Attention Getter) Growing up, I did not have a lot of friends. I spent my time indoors with my mom. I was a pretty shy kid, and can still be to this day.
(Credentials/Personal Connection to the Topic) Against all odds, my first dog was the one to bring me out my shell. He was a salt-and-peppered miniature schnauzer named Jefferson. He's since passed, yet his love lives on. After Jefferson came Hamilton and Francie, the two loves of my life currently.

The snout of a Standard is considered to be one of it's most defining features. The long bearded muzzle, along with their bushy eyebrows, have been the most recognizable traits for this dog.
They have appeared all over Germany as great companions and guard dogs. Merchants used these dogs to protect their belongings as they traveled.

This breed excels in many fields. From agile sports, herding, and guarding, this dog is athletic with a highly developed stamina. This dog can live either in urban or rural areas, as long as they're given daily exercise.
The Standard is very territorial and will bark at anything. They have a deep bark, far more intimidating than they look. They are great at protecting families, esp. children and the ones they love. Yes, they will wake up your whole neighborhood.
