Shukumar and Shoba wept about the loss of their child. For this was an extremely emotional time for Shukumar that drained him not only mentally but physically. The next morning, Shukumar woke up, not in his bed but a hospital bed. Doctors and nurses surrounding him. The sounds of beeping and phones ringing were suffocating him. “What happened and where am I?” Shukumar mumbled not realizing he had a tube down his throat. At that moment, all the doctors and nurses turned to him, shocked. “Shukumar?” The Primary M.D. questioned. “You were in a plane crash a week ago.” All Shukumar could remember was boarding the airplane as he thought of Shoba and their baby and he strangely remembered a dream he had of his son becoming a miscarriage. What happened?” “I’ll leave you two alone to chat for a while” the nurse interrupted. As the door closed, Shoba began to smoke a cigarette. She began to take the pillow out of her dress and take off her wig. “This is what happened when you were gone. I began to smoke again and I... I lost the baby from stress and high blood pressure. Because you left me, now I’m gonna leave you.” She pulled the needle out from Shukumars arm and began to stab it into her throat. “Shoba no!” Shukumar tried to yell but nothing came out. As she began to drop to the floor, he began to lose consciousness again. The last thing he remembered was looking down at his arm and seeing blood squirting out of it. Then everything went black. Shukumar awoke once again not in a hospital bed, but in a forest with his son. “Dad! I’m so sorry! I didn’t mean to hit you!” his son, Daniel, said, crying. All Shukumar could see was a bear running towards them with murder in its eyes. “Daniel listen to me, you have to act fast. There is no time to explain but run, right now, before the bear gets you.
