Brent Bishop was a junior in high school and he was always the new kid since he always moved. Brent’s parents only cared about how much money they had so they always tried to get the nicest house they could buy. But, one day at a party Brent had no idea what was going to happen after he was humiliated by Brianna. This goes to show that “We never know all the consequences of our acts. When Brent first in the accident and Lea died, he became depressed and did not want to talk about it. Lea’s parents requested for Brent’s restitution to be to build whirligigs and to put them in each corner of the United States. One of the places Brent went to build a whirligig was in Weeksboro, Maine. When Brent went to Weeksboro, Maine he met a painter that he became friends with. They spent time together and he felt like she wouldn’t have known the real him if he hadn’t told her about what he did. The painter responded by telling Brent “God knows, we all make mistakes…”I could be wildly wrong. But my sense of you is that you're a good person, not a bad one”(Fleischman 119). Brent was glad that she had accepted him for who he truly is and she agreed that he should put the whirligig at her
