The short story "The Jacket," written by Gary Soto, is a memory of when the writer was a child. He had this ugly green jacket that his mother got for him. He liked it until he got back to school. There, he lost his friends, and even some of the other kids were making fun of him and his green jacket. Now, I went through something similar myself, except I couldn't take my problem off. What got me into this situation was a haircut. It was fine until I decided to take matters into my own hands. My grandmother always cuts my hair for me. It's been this way ever since I was a little kid. She cut too much off of my crown, which is the area at the back part of your head. As a result, I had hair that would stand up in the back.
