Should Artist’s music be used in advertising? Artists who want to make it out there in the music world often have to pay the price to not have the freedom to create the music they want to make. Would you (an aspiring artist) want this to happen to you? Well, I wouldn’t! I firmly believe in the opposition of artist’s music being used in advertising for two reasons. No matter how much money the artist makes off these deals, they are just risking themselves to be out on the streets, instead of putting in the effort for making the record hit. An example is Zoë Keating, a person who describes herself as, “established but non-mainstream…” (Paragraph 3) She has been a cellist who has so many record hits, yet doesn’t make any income what so ever, because she refuses to advertise her music and knows what would happen to her if she
