The first legislation I will discuss is ‘Personal Protective Equipment (PPE) regulations (2002)’ which is used to reduce the risk of injury whilst doing an activity. I believe that public high schools should adopt dress codes for students. One reason is that it limits clothing options. Another reason is that it prepares students for the job environment when they have to wear a uniform for work. When an employee usually goes to the workplace, they are usually required to wear a uniform in order to show that they work for that specific company. If public high schools are going to adopt a dress code, the dress code will prepare the students much earlier for that change.

I believe there is indeed a need for a dress code for it to be able to maintain an atmosphere conducive for learning. To begin, with many students of different upbringings attending the school, it is crucial to make sure students dress appropriately in an educational environment. Adolescences particularly, dress the most provocative in an effort to fit in and attract the same or opposite sex. By enforcing more professional attire, it would show students of both sexes the appropriate way to dress in an academic setting.
