The issue with censorship has become a big debate for some. People worry that if certain things aren’t being prohibited, the minds of young children will be corrupted as result. People are arguing that censorship doesn’t allow freedom, which it doesn’t in some cases. I think that censorship should not be prohibited from the public.
The big debate on removing some materials from the public eye is becoming a huge deal. Many think that some things shouldn’t be allowed to be said. I think that if some things aren’t mentioned to the public then everyone would be clueless. Some could care less about what people say about certain things. They don’t care if children find out that the Easter Bunny didn’t hide the Easter Eggs for the Easter Egg hunt. There are many different positive and negative points in the world. Some believe the negative and others believe only in the positive.
The public generally can’t help what reaches the ears of others. We can’t control that Sally found out Billy told the Tooth Fairy not to visit her. We are not responsible for keeping in every single thing we know. It would literally make everyone unintelligent and they wouldn’t know a thing. Some things people are just gonna have to find out one way or another.
Schools shouldn’t be prohibited from teaching students things they need to know. What if Susan didn’t want to learn about slavery because her mother thought it was insensitive to teach such a thing in a place of education? Well Susan and Susan’s Mother are just gonna have to deal with the fact that these things happened and there is no way for people to hide it from them. These are things that shouldn’t be censored. There are things that could be censored but I think that some people are taking it a little overboard with the censorship thing.
