Many people have multiple perspectives about awards given out in young athletes sports. Some people believe that young athletes should be given awards just for participating in a sport. However, others think that awards should be given to the top athlete on a tea or the one who has improved the most, and experts have reasonable evidence to support both sides of the argument. The question is, which side do you support? Young athletes should get an award just for participating in a sport because it gives them motivation to keep working hard, because they are still young, and most of all, because if everyone gets an award, then no athlete can be favored more than the other. When it is demonstrated in passage 1 it says, " There will be plenty of time for kids to learn about competition as they get older. They'll soon realize that only one soccer team wins the World Cup, and only one football team wins the Superbowl." This is also shown in passage 2, " The focus isn't on winning, its about building skills." The first peice of evidence supports the idea that young athletes should get and award just for participating in a sport because they are still young because, like it said, there is still plenty of time for children that would like to play sports to learn about the ways of competition. They still have a long life to live. The second peice of evidence supports the idea that young athletes should get and award just for participating in a sport because, connecting to the first piece of evidence, children still have hopefully long lives to live, and it feels good to get an award. Today, more kids than ever are playing a huge range of team sports. Coaches are encouraged to support everyone on their teams." This shows that young athletes should get and award just for participating in a sport because like in evidence one, we send the wrong message to the team players if only 1-2 people get a trophy, and then thinking back to evidence 2, it also helps that many coaches give equal playing time to their players, so that everyone can feel like they earned their trophy, emphasizing its meaning.
