College athletes should be paid. Half of the people think that college athletes should not be paid and the other half thinks that college athletes should be paid. They play their sport which could be basketball, football, track & field etc and can be almost like a fulltime job. On top of that, they go to the weight room to get stronger which can almost be their whole day. The reason for why college athletes should be paid is because they bring a big amount of revenue for their school. Another reason why i think that college athletes should be paid is because the NCAA makes over $800 million just from the March Madness tournament. Besides them getting paid, i think that college life is hard for them because they travel around to a bunch of other states and do not have enough time to attend classes. They are classes that they paid for, and they do not even have the time to attend them sometimes. They are getting a salary for something that they do, almost full time. The positive outcome is that they will be getting money and will not have to worry about getting a job that they probably wouldn’t have the time of day for. They would have the money to pay for their books or things that they need when they are traveling to away games or meets. The negative outcome of college athletes getting paid is that, everyone might not get the same salary. I feel like if women were to get paid for sports, they would not pay them as much just because not as much people take interest in their sports than people would for men sports.
