The NCAA receives nearly 11 billion dollars annually from college sports. I think the NCAA could give a little money back to the people who are making them the money in the first place. The second reason is the athletes don’t have enough time to get jobs. Being a division one athlete is a full time job. During the season you are traveling all over the country and barely have enough time for homework especially not a job. Some athletes come from families in the inner cities that have nothing. The last main point I have is more athletes would graduate. Students are leaving college early and going pro because they are not getting paid. This is a problem because if the player has a career ending injure in the pros they have nothing to fall back on. The player could suffer a career ending injury his rookie year and never play sports again, but if he didn’t leave early and graduated college he could just start a new non-sport career. If the athlete were getting paid in college there wouldn’t be rush for him to go pro as fast as he can. College sports would also be more competitive if all the athletes stayed in college for all four year instead of leaving
