Should Creationism Be Taught In School?
Since 1859 when a scientist named Darwin published his book called “Origins of Species” there has been debate whether or not Creationism should be taught in school. The major reason why society has not allowed creationism in the school, because they think it is forcing religion into the school. The other side of the debate is that religious people feel like the school system is discriminating their religious rights. People have to understand what Creationism and Evolution really is before making their decision. If they do not know exactly what both of them are their decisions are pointless. It is like asking people that have never tasted apples to choose between red or green apples.
According to Britannica Academic, Evolution is the belief that all living organisms changed over time to survive. Funk and Wagnalls states that, “Darwin has a major impact on why organisms can evolve he came up with a belief called "natural selection, in biology the process is when environmental effects lead to varying degrees of reproductive success among individuals of a population of organisms with different hereditary characters, or traits” (1).
