The side that I am choosing is that George should have killed Lennie because Lennie can’t live by himself, he is mentally challenged, and Curley would have killed him anyway if George didn 't. In the book Of Mice And Men by John Steinbeck, I believe that George did make the right decision to shoot Lennie, because of the relationship that they had. Previously learning from the experience Candy had when he let someone else shoot his dog, George knew that shooting Lennie was his job to do. In chapter three Candy says "I ought to of shot that dog myself, George. I shouldn 't ought to of let no stranger shoot my dog." , (John Steinbeck, 1973, p.58), this really impacted Georges decision on giving someone else the ability to shoot him.
The topic im talking about is from Mice and Men written by John Steinbeck. My argument is George should have killed Lennie because Curley would have killed him anyway. My second reason is if George didn’t Kill Lennie he would have died a more slow and painful death. The other side of the argument is that they were very close friends and Lennie never did anything to get killed. My first reason George should have shot Lennie is that Lennie would have suffered because Curley would have only shot him in the gut and let him die slowly.

At the end of the novel George kills Lennie which raises the question if he fairly weighed all of the options and if his choice was justified or condemned. One reason why this was a justified decision is that George only wanted the best for his best friend.

When it comes down to it, I think George made the right decision in killing Lennie because Lennie never truly learned from his mistakes, he was with his best friend when he died, and Lennie’s death was not painful.

The other men were only doing it because they hated Lennie, George would have done it for the sake of Lennie’s safety and mental state. George would have felt guilty if he did not handle it himself. One reason George was justified in killing Lennie was that George had realized Lennie would never get better and their dream would never come true.

They got ran out of Weed(the old farm they used to work at) for harassing a girl and not letting her go. He was just scared from her screaming and kicking. He didn’t mean to harm, or scare her.
