High school students spend four years as a teenager preparing for the rest of their lives. Mainly trying to prepare themselves for college and all that comes along with that. The four years in high school teachers are supposed to be preparing their students for college such as the amount of studying, being able to manage time well, keeping knowledge, making the right decisions, etc. Studies have shown that the majority of high school students are not prepared for all that college has thrown at them. High school students are most defiantly not physically, mentally, or emotionally prepared for college.

Most colleges expect students to be able to think about what they learn. If a student can understand and analyze a conflict, investigate and propose solutions, evaluate the material, etc. then the student will be more likely to succeed in college. Students in college also must be able to manage their time by themselves. Self-Management skills do not come over night, therefore a student should be practicing this before they get into college. Key Content Knowledge is better explained as the ACT and the College Board, which both emphasize on math and English. All of the state tests that specialize in certain areas help focus on the structure of knowledge. These tests help show the students the importance of making connections between the big ideas. Knowledge is the student being able to pick out the right college to attend. Having this knowledge will help the student to know when they need to have a certain type of form filled out. These are all things high school students need to know about even before their senior year and if they don't they will most likely
