Illegal immigration in the United States has become a controversial topic throughout the past few decades. The decision whether to allow children of illegal immigrants to attend public schools has turned into both a political and socioeconomic debate in the United States of America. Although allowing children of illegal immigrants to attend school can pose significant hardships to the average tax payer, research conducted shows that illegal immigrants are vitally important to the economy and their attendance in school can be the difference between being successful in our country or living a life of crime. There is no way to understand fully what these children are going through but just imagine being in a situation in which you have to get away from circumstances life may throw at you. It is exactly why people choose to immigrate to the United States: for a better life. A high school diploma tends to raise the amount of opportunities the person has for work. If the United States would choose not to educate children of illegal immigrants, they will be left with minute opportunity to make a living and will end up experimenting with selling drugs and crime to fill the financial deficit.
