Should individuals be prosecuted for statements made on social media? The answer is no, because if kids are becoming suicidal and we talk to kids about what there victims go through they might just come through. 10% of youth ages 11-18 have been both the victim and offender. “In order for a behavior to be defined as cyberbullying it must be repeated, etc.” (Source 1 paragraph 6) this is so that in the middle of a fight telling someone they hate each other is not cyberbullying, but sometimes kids don’t realize just because they say it in different words doesn’t mean it isn’t the same thing. Bullies are bullied “10% of youth ages 11-18 have been both the victim and offender”. (Source 3 paragraph 15) this is what drives kids to be bullies not because they want the other kids to feel bad but because they feel bad about themselves and if kids make other kids feel bad about themselves the bully feels better about their self. Some people don’t understand that if we complement each other every now and then or make friends with outcasts that making others happy will make you happy too. Some people could say that kids should be prosecuted for harassment and stuff like that but all that will do is scare kids not show them what there really doing to other kids. So they may stop but they will never really understand what other kids feel and think about themselves or others. The real solution to cyberbullying isn’t criminal prosecution, its education and selective participation. (Source 2 paragraph
