A study done in a local high school found that 45% of parents and 81% of teachers strongly agree that school uniforms have improved the overall learning environment. Since the school board has tried them out, 52% of parents and 81% of teachers also strongly agree that the Board should extend the school uniform policy indefinitely (School). School uniforms should be implemented in public schools because of the bullying the decrease, school and community pride they increase and how they lower the cost of buying clothing for financially unstable families in the community. School uniforms should be a permanent choice of dress code for all public schools because of the positive outcomes and sense of security they bring to students and staff in the schools.
