Year-round schooling can cause students to become more stressed out versus traditional schooling. As we have seen the different pros and cons, I would like to firmly state that public year-round schooling shouldn’t be implemented in our education system. I do not believe in it for our current generation or any future ones. Many students do not need the strict structure of year-round schooling, as they are becoming increasingly smarter. Year-round schooling, like many other ideas, has its pros and cons but can be steadily confirmed as ineffective.
Year round school should not be used in today’s school, because it threatens family plans, teacher and student burnouts, and may become costly. A child’s development is based on different experiences that sometimes can only be experienced through family time and not sitting in a classroom. Many families plan vacations during the summer. Some even sending children to camps that may give them another experience that school doesn’t offer. We can see from the research shown of the many aspects of having school year-round. First, students gain and use more learning retention that helps them succeed more in school. Next, students' test scores have improved significantly with having school all year-round because they are understanding more of what they are being taught in school. It gives them more time to ask questions and truly know what they are being taught. Last, the students and teachers get more breaks and longer breaks with being in school all year-round.
Year-round school is a strong opinion between many individuals around the world. Year-round school is where you eliminate summer break for shorter breaks throughout the school year. The idea of year-round school is not a suitable concept because parents with tight schedules will have to pay for daycare during breaks, kids with disabilities like autism may have trouble understanding because of the excess of breaks, and year-round school can restrict summer vacations with families. Year- round school is not suitable for parents that travel for their job, or have busy corporate jobs. Readworks.org, the solution to reading comprehension, says that, “Year Round schools are a bad idea, summer is a great season and kids will be restricted from the treasures of summer.”
