In society there are a number of literary geniuses, who work transcends class, time and age. Although Shakespeare died over 400 years ago, he still speaks to many people in different cultures at different times. Shakespeare wrote literature that stands the test of time; consequently, his work is still relevant in many settings today. The language of Shakespeare is all around us, even if people are ignorant to it. The relevance of language should be taught in schools so that it is not depleted by the influence of technology. Significant impact can be delivered in the most improbable places when valuable moral lessons are learnt. Shakespeare’s language is constantly inherent in society. Quotes of Shakespeare are intrinsic on a daily basis, albeit without peoples recognition. This can be illustrated with ‘as good luck would have it’, and ‘cruel to be kind’, just two of numerous examples of phrases which Shakespeare originally conceived.
