If a student wants to take an AP class, let them take it. AP classes prepare students for college and allows a classroom to be excused from interruptions, because all of the students have the same purpose for taking the AP class. Fremont High School should not punish those who seek a successful future. These “service classes” can be seen as punishments for those who wish to go to college and create careers. Not every student wants to be a hair dresser, not every student wants to be a sewer (720).
They often fear that the school will begin to fall and be unsuccessful. There are some courses that aren’t attended much and they don’t want the program to get rid of so they make the classes very
Public school is one of the primary sources of education for many children in the United States, therefore it should be the school 's sole purpose to teach them the essential elements they need to succeed in life. This means more than teaching math, science, history, and English. A school, primarily high school, must provide courses that focus on a student 's future career plans, courses that challenge a student academically, and courses that help a student navigate their life as adults. Without classes that help students expand and delve into their future career choices, they can limit their views of success. An excellent example of this can be found in Jonathan Kozol 's Still Separate, Still Unequal, particularly in his interviews with the students of Fremont High School in Los Angeles.
In college departments are required to have a certain amount of students enrolled in one of the departments courses. If a academic department in the school cannot reach a certain amount of students over a certain time the department will have to close. Arts and humanities classes are on the decline due to the number of job opportunities available. However, arts and humanities courses are important to help develop an understanding for literature and art. Many college students are not a fan of taking arts and humanities courses because the courses do not correspond with their major.
Some people say that high schools should not be allowed to teach AP classes. Some people think this because students are taking advantage of the weighted credit. They also argue high school teachers are not capable of teaching a college level course. Finally, they argue that AP courses reduce the opportunity of the exploration in college. The first argument they give is AP classes give a weighted credit to a student, even if the student did not take the AP exam (Honawar 2).
School is a place where you go to spend about half of your life learning about topics that simply do not interest you or that truly won’t help you in the future. The U.S government tells the teachers what they need to teach in their schools for the class curriculums, so that the students can learn a healthy amount of material. The best thing is that many high schools fail to teach their students important things. Many teachers just pass students along through their class, because they don’t want to hold them back and deal with them for another year, but soon enough most of us move onto college. I’ve seen many people fail during college, because their high school did not push them to try to achieve great grades.
The United States Is a democratic government. The citizens of this amazing country vote for the president, the govern of their state, vice president, ect. We also have a choice to vote or not to vote. That is one of the best things that we have in the way that our government. Not all the people in the country pay attention to who is running or what they are wanting to do when they are in office.
In my opinion, a family is considered a whole or as a unit, and are supposed to stick together no matter what. If I were to implement a family prevention program for those participating in a methadone program I would include all of the following: • Empowerment, hope, mutual aid, recovery supports, and terms which are culturally respectful to those in treatment. For example, participants will be encouraged to provide mutual aid and empowerment towards one another during the prevention process. • In order to teach all clients how to deal with and handle relapse and relapses, situations in which one is put at risk for the return of using substances must be identified by clients.
Is college worth it for student getting out of high school? I think that college isn’t worth for students out of high school, because of the cost of college, there are other options instead of college, and the employment rate of college students. I will also provide the opposite side of the cost of college, there are other options instead of college, and the employment rate of college students. In the next paragraphs I will tell you why I think college isn’t worth it to a high school student anymore. The first thing that I want to bring up is the amount of money needed to go to college.
I feel it’s not justice but obviously they would want students to fail so they would have to retake classes and pay more. My father had even said “It’s like they punish college students with the workload”. My sculpture teacher assigns projects like it’s nothing, and math class requires over a hundred problems a week plus the study plan to unlock the
Why Students Shouldn’t Have Homework There are around 365 days in a year, and in a school year, there are around 180 days. From the beginning of the school year to the end, the most common thing that students least like, is homework. Coming home after a long day of school, then having responsibilities to do at home, not to mention some students have after school activities which take up around 2 hours if not more. Homework for students is a barrier that makes it difficult for them to have any kind of social life, or spend time with their family. There are many reasons why students shouldn’t have homework, during this essay people will learn why having homework isn’t helping the student, except making things more difficult for them.
Students who are becoming into the adult world such as juniors and seniors should take mandatory classes requiring them to learn about specific life skills that build
Students should not be allowed to select their own classes because they would just pick the classes with friends in them not the classes they need to learn. Students would just pick classes to be with their friends and would just mess around all day instead of actually learning. “Subjects are introduced at school level so that students learn about the importance of each subject and the role it plays in our day to day activities(science, maths, history, geography etc).” (Vipul Agawane, Quora.)Students should not be allowed to select their own classes because they would just pick the classes with friends in them and no the classes that they actually need to learn. Schools could easily fix the problem of students choosing classes with friends in them by adding more than one teacher teaching that subject and by picking the students in each class randomly.
With class, there is a strong indication of where a person residential area is. Living in Trumbull the property tax is high because the houses are big, and the majority of the town are homeowners. Thus, creates a bigger pool of money for the local government to fund the public schools in my area. My high school is ranked 20th in the state of Connecticut (Niche). Where twenty-five AP classes are offered to give greater opportunity for individualized programming and accomplishments.
It also is a great way to get close with the professors. By not showing up, you will gain that advantage. Some professors give out participation points. A student 's grade can slip when they do not attend class due to a of lack of participation. Also, it is a good idea for students to sit in the front of the class.
