Should Uniforms Be Acquired For High School Students?

We as humans, tend to make nonverbal statements simply by how we express oneself in many ways, from the style of clothes to the hairstyles, and even the latest shoes. A popular topic that has been up for discussion in many school systems nationwide and even global, is whether schools should make it a requirement for all students to wear uniforms. However, uniforms should not be a requirement for public high school students it would hinder the student’s ability to express themselves, uniforms are very costly, and student’s grades depend on their willingness to learn, not on what they have on. This could cause major problems for the schools that are located in low-income communities. Most families have multiple children that are school-aged. Unfortunately, most children in these communities do receive free lunch because their parent’s income is high. How would you expect the parents to pay for clothes? What would happen to these students who cannot afford them? The schools would not allow them to come to school, which would be like denying an education for students. The stress level is already high for the families because it is possible that the parents are working many jobs just to keep a roof over their head and running water. Buying uniforms would cause the parents to work even longer hours; decreasing the amount of family time that is already hard to get. For some, it would be easier for some households to do recycle clothes that the older siblings no longer fit into.
