Family Guy
There have been many television shows that I have had the privilege of enjoying with friends and family. Some shows are funny others depressing and others are becoming more dramatic than full films. However, only one television show is constantly on Netflix in my household, it is, Family Guy. Season one or the most up to date season, it does not matter which episode plays first, all episodes are enjoyed as much as the first laugh that the show provoked in my home. Family Guy has become part of the family primetime entertainment.
The Family guy series created by Seth MacFarlen has had a very conflicted history. The show first aired in 1999 on the Fox broadcasting Company, Yet, Fox Decided to cancel the series after the third season had aired with one episode left unaired. In 2009, it was nominated for a Primetime Emmy Award for Outstanding Comedy Series, the first time an animated series was nominated for the award since The Flintstones in 1961. The series has received flack and criticism about ripping off the Simpsons. This did not deter the creator from surpassing some elements that made the Simpsons such a success. The show’s writers have welcomed such accusations by pushing back in some episodes where Simpson characters are clearly put in the show to ridicule and mock the allegations. Such actions by Family Guy creators and writing staff have brought many lawsuits to the series, but, what has made this Primetime sensation successful is its fan base. The fans are standing up to corporations and mainstream networks that are not delivering what’s in the best interest of the public viewers. What the viewers have and always have wanted one show, Family
