SHY BLUE THE SHY JOEY By Tracey Payne Once upon a time in outback Australia there lived mother kangaroo & her little Joey by the name of Shy Blue. Her mum was really proud of her little girl and she loved her with all of her heart. But there was one thing wrong, shy blue would not come out of her mother's pouch, she was shy. One day when the sun was warm, the sky was blue and the butterflies fluttered in the breeze, Walkabout the little wombat, dropped in and said, " mother kangaroo! may shy blue come out and play?" "Follow me, I have a plan," she said again. "what's going on?"asked slither to the other animals. "Not sure said kook kook . They all followed Sunrise down to the river where they found Ularu the dingo having a nice cool drink and flat tail the Platypus hunting worms for his meal, "what are you all doing here"? said ularu. "Yes, what are you doing here?" said flat tail. "Mother kangaroo said shy blue is to shy and scared that she will not come out and play, so I decided we should have a special party for her to make her feel wanted". That's a great idea they all said. So the animals all set about near the billabong, preparing the special welcome party for the very shy, Little Shy Blue. Kook kook prepared the decorations, while sunrise, walkabout and flat tail prepared the food and ularu, slither,Laze about and prickles all prepared the entertainment.
