Tasha, thanks for writing an informative post discussing the similarities and differences of Canada, Brazil and Mexico as compared to the USA. As I concur with your assessment of each country as it pertains to Trompenaars’ analysis indicate strong similarities between the US and Canada in every category. However, I have a few dissenting views as I see both the US and Canada having a strong propensity towards Sequential Time as opposed to Synchronous Time. Sequential Time is defined as one who puts high priority on punctuality, planning and schedules. In contrast, nations that operate by Synchronous Time exhibit a high degree of flexibility placed on plans, commitments and time (Satterlee, 2018). Additionally, both Mexico and Brazil are collectivist society according to Hofstede’s dimensions of culture, and this construct in this author’s opinion compares to Trompenaars’ management dimension of Communitarianism. Therefore, Communitarianism believes in the group cohesiveness and long-term commitment to group members above self-interest of the individual. Not only are individuals in a Collectivist or a Communitarian society loyal to group members, studies indicate findings according to market researchers that members in Communitarian cultures, such as Brazil and Mexico are loyal to brands, more so than consumers from an individualistic, achieve oriented society. such as US and Canada (Leng, & Botelho, 2010). Also, because Brazil and Mexico are both Collectivist or Communitarian societies, this author believes that both nations relate to their environments by using External directions, as this construct is a means of relating to the environment providing members with the resources of promoting the group welfare in taking responsibility for one’ work to achieve organizational goals (Beekun, Stedham, &
