The United Kingdom and the United States of America are two of the most influential nations in the world. Both nations are known for their unique systems of government, which differ significantly in terms of their structure and functionality. When comparing the sovereignty of the political systems in the United Kingdom and the United States of America, one must keep in mind that it boils down to the power to not only successfully govern a society, but to maintain that power without challenge. These factors combine to give parliament more power to shape policy, hold the government to account, and change the law than Congress has in the US system of government. This is because the UK's unwritten constitution is more flexible and adaptable than the US Constitution, which means that parliament has more power to make and change laws. The US Constitution, on the other hand, places greater emphasis on the separation of powers and the independence of the judiciary, which can limit the power of Congress. The fact that the UK's parliament is sovereign means that it holds more power than the US government, granting it a unique level of autonomy and control over its own affairs. This allows Britain to act independently in matters of international diplomacy and foreign policy without external interference or influence. Additionally, this also gives the British greater freedom of action within their own borders when compared to other countries which must abide by laws imposed from outside sources.
