Similarities include attitude towards life and school. Difference include friendships and conformity. One way
The movie and novel share similar qualities. For example, both feature all of the same characters. Ponyboy, Darry, and Sodapop are brothers.
In addition, the main characters are both very similar, from characteristics to actions. The two tales that were told both have main characters Ivy from The village and Equality from Anthem. The two of them have determination, because they both do what must be done no matter what they have to go through. Ivy, struggled with a disability of being bling, but she knew that there was more to her world than what was just there. So, Ivy does what no one in her village has done, and goes into the woods to try to find a cure for Lucious(Ivy’s significant other).
Throughout the book, events occur that reveal similarities and differences between the two. One of the biggest similarities that they share, and what they bond over the most is just being outdoors. On page 10 of The Trail, it explains, “But most of the time it was just me and Lucas... Sometimes we’d swing bats in Norwich’s perfectly measured ball fields, or go to a pool party in town, but our favorite thing to do was to go camping behind my house,” (Hashimoto). Although this seems to be a simple similarity, it is major because it is somewhat the driving force of the book.
One more reason why they are alike in many ways is how in each story they both have a person who is deemed the voice of reason. Piggy talks to Ralph, “We got a lot of sticks. We could have a sundial each. Then we should know what the time was” (65). The math teacher just wanted to give Cady the right advice about decisions to make in high
The main characters have a lot in common and a lot of similar traits. One similar trait they share is they are both funny. This proven when the boys burn the bad guys. This explains the reason they are funny.
Everyone has their own similarities and differences in their own ways. In the novel Things Not Seen by Andrew Clements, Bobby and Alicia have their own extreme similarities and differences. Bobby and Alicia both have similarities because they both have a major setback and their mothers surprisingly went to the same college and majored in the same courses. These characters also have differences as an example, Alicia was popular at school and Bobby was not. Next Alicia acts very mature unlike Bobby.
I find that both the stories have a sort of similarity in them in how the boys act and where they are coming from. Also the boys all are coming from prep schools and as they may be different schools in the different stories all the boys feel the same exact love and bond towards each other that has been built up from years in their living situations . And last one of the biggest similarities that ties the boys together are the formation of the clubs, like the super suicide society and the Dead Poets society, in
Another item that is extremely important in both stories is the use and importance of fate. Both characters rely on their fates for assistance and for achieving
The differences they experience later in life are more surprising because of the similarity of their upbringings. They both come from wealthy, or at least middle class families - their homes may have been a little dysfunctional, but it is assumed that they did not suffer any major abuse during childhood. On one hand, there’s Tyler; the son of a wealthy actor who never sees his father but is doted on by his mother. On another, there’s Kirsten; a somewhat successful child actress who presumably comes from a good home, but who seems to be at least a little neglected by her parents; this is seen when her “handler” during King Lear cannot reach her parents for hours, even though Kirsten had just witnessed a death that was widely publicized and would have been seen in the media by her parents. The lives they lead after the plague reflects their lives before, interpreted through the mind of a child.
Another reason they are similar is that they both have supporters to help bring their goals into reality. Margot's supporter is of course her friend because in the text “Margot” “What” “We locked her in the closet” All of them forgot about Margot but except that person, a random classmate wouldn’t just remember about her when William made a point of why the class should hater her and the person that told everybody to let Margot out. Ona’s supporter is Michael. B since he is the only person in Ona’s class that truly believed her and wanted to experience what she feels and get her to teach him. My final reason is that they both were able to make their goals a reality.
How do the characters in Better Call Saul and 12 Angry Men navigate the complex balance between personal ethics and the pursuit of the greater good, especially within the legal system, and how do their choices shed light on their perspectives on justice and truth? Throughout the 1957 film 12 angry men, directed by Sydney Lumet and based on Reginald roses 1954 screenplay of the same name, and Vince Gilligan’s television drama series Better Call Saul, a major theme explored throughout both stories is the fine balance between personal morals and the pursuit of the greater good. Both pieces, being character studies, explore these themes by focusing a large portion of their stories on examining the motivations and ethics of their characters through
Furthermore, in both of these books, the main characters have strong personalities that stand out and make them unique. Their
However, both Jack and Priscilla are quite similar due to their protective attitudes towards their friends. For example, in the story “Wonder”, Jack ended up in a showdown with Julian because he was insulting Auggie; this showdown resulted in Jack getting suspended from the school for two whole days. Also, on a camping trip, Auggie, Jack, and a few others, were attacked by some older seventh graders, and Jack protected Auggie; and they all ended up bruised and scraped. To recap, both stories are similar, in a sense, because they both deal with standing up to bullying. Priscilla stood up for Melvin and Jack stood up for Auggie; but both didn’t stand up correctly, they resorted to physical violence to protect the people they care
While the similarities are smaller, like the considerate personalities shared between the main characters of both
