Social and environmental warriors are individuals who stand up for their beliefs through strife and dissension. Although on the surface it may not appear clear, but Christopher McCandless and Galileo Galilei are both warriors of their own right. These two historical figures have both left their impact on the world, even if they both accomplished that feat in seperate ways. McCandless and Galileo are both alike and contrasting in the fashion that they lived their lives. The comparisons between Christopher McCandless and Galileo Galilei are striking to say the least. Comparisons were also relevant in a larger sense. The pair was outcasted from society due to their views and opinions. McCandless felt that society was backwards and morally wrong. Chris outcasted himself to get away from the evil and corruption that was Mago 2 society. As we know, this ultimately ended his life early. Galileo was also an outcast due to his theory of the Earth revolving around the Sun. In his period, it was believed that the opposite occurred. When Galileo presented his ideas, people were outraged and shocked. His scientific notions conclusively brought upon his banishment. Even their deaths were eerily similar, as they were both excluded from the rest of the world upon passing. It is obvious that both of these figures were alike in a myriad of ways. Furthermore, the pair of vagabonds did have their differences. McCandless welcomed the loner world, it was exhilarating for him to be alone and live of the wild. Galileo on the other hand did not choose to be banished. In 1633, it was finally decided after several relocations that Galileo would live alone in a small farmhouse located in Arcetri. There, he would grow old, become blind, and die all by himself (The Trial of Galileo). Different interest also
