The civil rights and civil liberties the basic rights and the guaranteed rights according to the DifferenceBetween website. Civil Rights pertain to the equal treatment of individual irrespective of age, gender, race and disability. Civil liberties are rights guaranteed in the United States Constitution, which includes right to privacy, freedom of speech, freedom slavery and force labor, right to a fair trial, right to marry, right to vote, right to life, freedom from torture, right to liberty, freedom of conscience, freedom of assembly, and freedom of expression. Civil Rights is how each individual is treated by others, Civil Liberties is the freedom that each individual enjoys under the Constitution. For example, an employee had been working hard for a promotion, but does not get it for a reason. The employee does not have the legal right to be promoted; getting a promotion is not a guaranteed civil liberty. I think that’s so hypocritical. In my opinion if you don’t like it, then you don’t have to. It’s not there for you, it’s there for others that enjoy the holiday. First Amendment “guarantees freedoms concerning religion, expression, assembly, and the right to petition”. So we have the right to express ourselves with religion, but if they are talking about the Supreme Court it’s different. It says on the First Amendment “It forbids Congress from both promoting one religion over others and also restricting an individual’s religious practices.” So I can understand why anything holiday has to be taken down in front of the Supreme Court, because they are not supposed to promote one religion.
